The sensor generates a single voltage pulse for each metal particle(ferromagnetic or non-ferromagnetic) detected above the sensor’s minimum size threshold. The signal is designed to interface to a host, either a MetalSCAN 3000 series Communication Assembly (Ethernet or wireless GPRS), or directly to a 3rd party monitoring or control system (host). The host to each particle pulse by incrementing a counter which is then compared to pre-determined equipment condition indicators. The condition indicators are based upon simple criteria which reliably establish whether the machine is healthy or not, if not how much damage there is, and how much longer the machine can be operated all performed local to the host with no need for expensive expert based analysis and consultations.

The sensor is designed for industrial grade applications characterized by oil and ambient temperatures not exceeding 85°C and 70°C respectfully, high vibration/shock, air/oil mixed flows, and demand for high reliability and low cost.
