Huntsville, AL (June 14, 2022) – Gastops had the opportunity to showcase its oil debris monitoring and analysis capabilities to numerous Army leaders and maintenance practitioners as part of the Future Vertical Lift (FVL) Sustainment Showcase at this year’s Army Experimental Demonstration Gateway Event (EDGE22). Gastops had live demonstrations of MetalSCAN and ChipCHECK running throughout the event at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah, from April 25th to May 13th.
MetalSCAN is a proven, advanced oil debris detection system that enhances Army aviation platforms by providing powerful real-time diagnostic/prognostic data on drive system health – a key enabler to reduce maintenance and sustainment costs, while maximizing aircraft safety and availability. MetalSCAN is an on-line sensor system applicable for both engines and transmissions: currently in use on the F-35 Lightning II and F-22 Raptor.
ChipCHECK is an at-line chip analyser that empowers maintainers and commanders to make immediate maintenance and mission GO/NO-GO decisions at the flight line based on lab quality analysis of wear debris chip samples from engines and transmissions.
“Gastops is pleased to have been selected to participate” says Steve Odom, President of Gastops Inc. in Huntsville, Alabama. “These proven technologies have the potential to increase readiness and reduce sustainment cost for Army Aviation’s enduring and future fleets.”
