Gastops Ltd announced today that their portable debris analyzer ChipCHECK meets ASTM 8182-18 Standard Test Method for Alloy Classification of Wear Debris using Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS).”
ASTM D8182-18 is the newest standard test method for alloy classification of wear debris.
“We are proud be part of a select group of companies that meet ASTM D8182-18 said Gastops Chief Executive Officer Dave Muir. “Our ChipCHECK team has worked hard to achieve this standard. Meeting this standard will only serve to strengthen the trust that OEMs, commercial airlines, civil aerospace operators, MRO facilities, and military maintenance personnel have in ChipCHECK.”
This accomplishment is another step in Gastops’ continuous pursuit of excellence and is aimed at providing customers with reliable products, services, support and peace of mind.
ChipCHECK is a field deployable maintenance decision support tool which employs innovative alloy identification spectroscopy technology to analyze chip detector debris. ChipCHECK uses digital image capture in combination with a Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) system to automatically analyze wear debris. This analysis determines the alloy type and size for each individual particle in the sample. Simplicity, reliability, portability, and powerful analysis capabilities combine to make ChipCHECK the ideal choice to meet today’s ever-expanding mission critical flight line maintenance demands.
