Gastops USA has been awarded a five-year contract by the U.S. Air Force to sustain its global fleet of ChipCHECK® portable debris analyzers, a critical tool that improves front-line jet engine maintenance and mission readiness.
Under the agreement, Gastops will provide comprehensive operational, intermediate, and depot-level support for ChipCHECK analyzers from August 2025 through August 2030, with work carried out at its Huntsville, Alabama facility.
ChipCHECK rapidly detects metallic debris in engine oil at the flight line, enabling immediate go/no-go decisions that increase aircraft availability and reduce unscheduled maintenance. It follows the successful research, development, and commercialization of ChipCHECK through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, in collaboration with the U.S. Air Force and the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). “This award reinforces the vital role ChipCHECK plays in predictive maintenance for the U.S. Air Force,” said Clifford Stone, Managing Director at Gastops USA. “We’re proud to support the Air Force in strengthening operational readiness and ensuring mission success worldwide.”
