Condition Assessment
From our Service Center in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, GasTOPS provides a range of condition assessment services to help our customers identify and monitor machinery degradation. These services include:
- Vibration Analysis;
- Machinery Fluids Analysis;
- Filter Debris Analysis;
- Precision Shaft Alignment;
- Troubleshooting; and
- Training.
Vibration Analysis:
Our experienced staff of vibration analysts can provide periodic or as required surveys of rotating machinery vibrations, including rotor smoothing, shaft balancing, alignment and fault finding surveys. Modern, multi-channel signal analyzers and spectrum analysis software are used to collect the data and evaluate the results. Concise, informative reports are provided which summarize the survey results.
Machinery Fluids Analysis:
GasTOPS offers a range of analytical services for sampled fluid analysis, including chemical analysis, contamination and wear particle analysis. Our analytical instruments include:
- Atomic emission spectrometry;
- Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrometry;
- Analytical ferrography; and
- Particle counting.
We support both routine and as-required sampling programs and our experienced machinery analysts are available to assist customers with the interpretation of test results.
Filter Debris Analysis:
GasTOPS offers a unique service based on an automated and repeatable method of extracting representative debris samples from fluid system filters and analyzing these samples using Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) technology. The EDXRF analysis determines the elemental constituents of the debris that, in turn, can be used to indentify specific machinery component damage.
Precision Shaft Alignment:
GasTOPS offers a unique service for the alignment of helicopter tail rotor shafts and components. This service utilizes laser technology to align propulsion train and shaft components. Our process offers a significant improvement in the time and effort required to align tail rotor shafting over traditional alignment methodologies.
Problem Troubleshooting:
GasTOPS experienced machinery vibration and fluid analysts can assist customers with diagnosis of persistent machinery problems. We can pinpoint the root cause of the problem and recommend the appropriate course of action to monitor or rectify the situation.
Training:
GasTOPS offers a range of training services relating to machinery condition assessment including vibration analysis, machinery fluid analysis, and Non-Destructive Testing.
